West Singhbhum Violence In Idol Immersion: There was a huge uproar regarding idol immersion in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. The situation became quite critical, after which the police took charge. In fact, the sound box of Shaitan Club Durga Puja Committee located at Rajbari Road in Chakradharpur Nagar under West Singhbhum district was confiscated by the administration at 1 pm on Sunday (13 October). After this, there was chaos from afternoon till late evening.

At around quarter to six in the evening, people slowly started gathering at Pawan Chowk and raised slogans against the administration. After a long time, Sub-Divisional Officer Shriti Rajalakshmi and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Nalin Kumar Marandi, Operation ASP Paras Rana tried their best to explain to the local people, but no one agreed.

Demand to suspend the police station in-charge

This happened for the first time in Chakradharpur when the immersion of the idol of Maa Durga could not be done in a day. The idols were immersed on Monday (14 October) evening. On behalf of the Central Durga Puja Committee, a demand was made from the administration that such action taken by the police station in-charge Rajiv Ranjan is condemnable. He demanded the administration to suspend him within 24 hours and appoint a new officer.

People raised slogans against the administration

Here, the Sub-Divisional Officer accepted everything and said that this should be done. On the day of immersion of the statue in the city, a crowd of people gathered at Pawan Chowk due to the public anger caused by the work of the police station in-charge. Where people were seen raising slogans against the police and administration.

Administration trolled on social media

Although Sub-Divisional Officer of Chakradharpur, Deputy Commissioner of West Singhbhum, Superintendent of Police (SP) along with the SDPO team kept trying to convince the protesting people, but the anger kept increasing. The statues remained standing on the streets on Sunday and became a topic of discussion on social media. Where people on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook alleged that why rules are implemented only in the worship of Hindus.
