The striking workers are demanding higher wages, better working hours and recognition of their union by the company. E Muthukumar, leader of the union of these workers, said, “We are on strike for the second day as well.”

Samsung did not respond to a request for comment. A company spokesperson said that talks are being held with the workers to resolve their complaints and that Samsung follows all laws and regulations. Samsung’s workers union in South Korea also went on strike for several days in the last two months. However, the union has not reached an agreement with the company’s management. Because of this this union can go on strike again.

Workers have put up posters stating indefinite strike outside Samsung’s factory in Tamil Nadu. The company’s second factory in the country is in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. in this factory smartphones Manufacturing is done.
