Who Jared Isaacman
According to reports, Jared Isaacman, born in the year 1983, is an American businessman and pilot. He is also a commercial astronaut. His company Draken International is a private air force provider. Jared has also created a company named Shift4 Payments, which does payment processing. Talking about his space missions, Jared commanded the Inspiration4 mission. This mission went to a height of 585 kilometers above the earth. Now he is leading the Polaris Dawn mission.
What is Polaris Dawn Astronaut Mission
Preparations for the Polaris Dawn mission had been going on for several years. It was to be launched in the year 2022, but it kept getting delayed due to various reasons. The astronauts accompanying the mission will perform a private spacewalk for the first time. During this time SpaceX’s spacesuit will be used. It is being said that this will be the highest human space flight after the Apollo Moon missions launched in the 1960s and 1970s.
Polaris Dawn Mission will also be taken above the International Space Station. It will go about 700 kilometers above the earth. The mission is divided into three parts. Its funding and command is with Isaacman. The responsibility of pilot is being performed by Lieutenant Colonel Scott Poteat. Sarah Gillis and Anna Menon have been added as mission specialists. Both are operations engineers at SpaceX.
If the mission is successful, the way for common man to do spacewalk in space will be opened.
