Israel has carried out several airstrikes targeting Hezbollah’s headquarters located in the southern part of the Lebanese capital Beirut. The attack came shortly after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed at the UN to continue fighting the terrorist group. The sound of Israeli air strikes was heard throughout the city. Following the attack, large clouds of smoke were seen in the densely populated southern part of Beirut. This area is considered the main stronghold of Iran-backed Hezbollah.
Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari said that, just moments ago, Israeli security forces launched a precision attack on the central headquarters of the Hezbollah terrorist organization. Took the necessary action to protect our people so that Israeli families can remain safe and secure in their homes. This attack by the Israeli army came within minutes of Netanyahu concluding his address to the United Nations General Assembly in New York. In which he vowed to continue attacks against Hezbollah and fight against Hamas “until victory”.
Attack on Hezbollah headquarters
Many buildings have suffered heavy damage in this attack by Israel. It is being told that the Israeli Army has carried out this strike on the hideout of Executive Council chief Nasrallah. This headquarters was under a residential building. It is being told that Hezbollah Chief Nasrallah had built a bunker beneath these buildings. Some members of Hezbollah have died in this attack. If media reports are to be believed, Nasrallah has survived these attacks safely. On the other hand, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is returning to his country immediately.
700 deaths in a week
Deadly cross-border firing between Hezbollah and Israel has been ongoing since Hezbollah’s Palestinian ally Hamas attacked Israel on October 7. Israel’s aerial bombardment of Hezbollah strongholds around Lebanon has killed nearly 700 people this week alone, according to the health ministry. Israel has currently refused to stop the war against Hezbollah.
