Pune News: A 24-year-old woman died due to abortion in Pune, Maharashtra. It is being told that this woman had an abortion done secretly at home. Due to excessive bleeding, his health deteriorated and he died on the way to the hospital. This woman got married in 2017.
The matter is of Indapur, Pune. This woman already has two children. Police suspect that the family aborted the pregnancy at home after discovering that the fetus was a girl.
Four month old fetus buried in field
The police have arrested her husband and father-in-law, while a case has also been registered against her mother-in-law. Police investigation found that the four-month-old fetus was buried by the family in the field. Police said that a doctor was called to perform the abortion, which is also being investigated.
Case registered on complaint of woman’s family
Based on the complaint of the woman’s brother, an FIR has been registered against her in-laws. Her husband and father-in-law were arrested. The police have removed the fetus from the field and sent it for postmortem. Police have registered a case under sections 91, 90 and 85 of the Indian Judicial Code at Indapur police station.
What does the law say?
The PCPLDT Act was enacted in India in 1994, under which it has been declared illegal to determine the sex of the fetus after conception. This has been considered a crime. Even notices are put up in all health care centers informing that sex determination is a crime.
