New Delhi. Bangladesh cricket team’s all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has announced his retirement from Test cricket. After the Bangladesh violence, many cricketers had to face the anger of the protesters. The house of former captain Mashrafe Mortaza was burnt. At the same time, Shakib has also raised questions regarding his safety. BCB Chief has said that we will not guarantee Shakib’s safety.
Bangladesh Cricket Board Chief Farooq said, “BCB Police is not a security agency like RAB (Rapid Action Battalion). We have not talked to the government about it in any way. His case is a bit serious. We can’t do anything about it. Shakib’s security is not in the hands of the board. We will not guarantee this. The board cannot provide personal security to any player. He will have to take a decision regarding this. “His security should come from the highest levels of government.”
Shakib said during the press conference before the second match against India in Kanpur on Thursday, “I am a citizen of Bangladesh, so I should not have any problem in going back to Bangladesh. My concern is my safety in Bangladesh. My close friends and my family members are worried. I hope the situation gets better soon.”
Let us tell you that Shakib Al Hasan has played many matches for Bangladesh. So far he has played 70 Tests, 247 ODIs and 129 T20 matches. During this period he has scored 4600, 7570 and 2551 runs respectively. In these formats, he has taken 242, 317 and 149 wickets respectively.
