New Delhi. A complaint of ball-tampering has been filed against New Zealand cricketer Henry Nicholls. He has been accused of ball tampering during a match of Plunket Shield, New Zealand’s domestic cricket championship. Nicholls was representing the Canterbury team in this match against Auckland. According to the information, the incident took place at Hagley Oval where the Canterbury team had a match against Auckland. In this match, Nicholls made an important contribution to the team’s victory by scoring 120 and 30 not out runs in both the innings respectively. Canterbury won the match by eight wickets.

In the match, during Auckland’s second innings, Nicholls was accused of ball tampering at the beginning of the 32nd, 33rd and 35th overs. In the video footage, Nicholls can reportedly be seen rubbing the ball on the rim of the helmet before these overs, which falls under the category of violation of the rules of cricket.
