Our Solar System The biggest star is the Sun. All the planets revolve around it. However, a new information received about the Sun can change the thinking of scientists about the universe. One Report According to , two astronomers have found evidence that the radius of our Sun is a few percent thinner than previous analyses. The new findings are yet to be reviewed. These findings are based on sound waves generated inside the Sun’s plasma. These are known as pressure or P-modes. These findings are in the arXiv paper published Has happened.

Scientists Masao Takata of Tokyo University and Douglas Gough of Cambridge said that millions of sound waves are produced inside the Sun. These include P-waves, G-mode and F-mode. The seismic radius of the Sun is usually measured through F-mode. Although scientists do not trust them much. Instead, p-modes travel much longer distances in the Sun’s plasma.

The research paper states that the ‘F mode’ frequency analysis has yielded a new measurement of the Sun’s radius, which is a few hundred percent less than the optical measurement. Both scientists also argue that P-mode should be used to measure the Sun’s radius.

Talking about other news related to the Sun, we set out to study the biggest star of our solar system ‘Sun’.
ISRO’s Aditya L-1 spacecraft has recently sensed a ‘mega-explosion’ there. Aditya L-1 has seen the first high energy X-ray glimpse of solar flares. In a post recently, ISRO said that the ‘High Energy L1 Orbiting X-ray Spectrometer’ (HEL1OS) installed in the ‘Aditya L1’ spacecraft has recorded the solar flare.
