Delhi News: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has alleged that bureaucracy is hindering efforts to fight air pollution. According to sources, CM Kejriwal has recommended to LG Vinai Saxena that DPCC President Ashwini Kumar should be immediately suspended to expedite action against the bureaucracy that is hindering the government’s efforts.

Before CM Kejriwal, Environment Minister Gopal Rai had suggested immediate suspension of the DPCC Chairman for continuously not following orders and laxity towards public interest. The Environment Minister said that DPCC Chairman Ashwini Kumar, taking suo motu cognizance, has stopped the payment for IIT Kanpur’s Real Time Source Apartment Study to tackle pollution in Delhi, whereas this was in violation of the Cabinet decision. In another case, DPCC President Ashwini Kumar, violating the decision of the Supreme Court and the Cabinet, also ordered to stop the functioning of smog towers.

Air quality still serious in Delhi
CM Kejriwal has made this complaint to the LG at a time when the Supreme Court has reprimanded the Punjab government on air pollution and said that stubble burning should be banned. The court also said in its comment that politics cannot be done all the time. Let us tell you that in Punjab also there is Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government. The air quality in Delhi still remains in the serious category, due to which education in schools has been made online instead of offline and now the government is also going to implement the odd-even system.

Delhi government is on BJP’s target
On the other hand, the Delhi government is on target of the opposition regarding pollution. BJP MP from West Delhi, Pravesh Verma has claimed that the cases of stubble burning in Punjab have increased by 700 percent compared to last year.
