Nigeria Boko Haram Attacked: In north-eastern Nigeria, the Boko Haram extremist group has killed at least 37 villagers in two separate attacks. Islamic extremist rebels targeted villagers in Geidam district of Yobe state on Monday and Tuesday. They first shot and killed 17 people, while using a landmine to kill 20 others. The surprising thing is that the 20 people killed had gone to the funeral of 17 people who were killed earlier.
The people of Geidam district of Yobe state have been victims of attacks by Islamic extremist rebels for the last 14 years. Let us tell you that the Islamic extremist group Boko Haram started an insurgency in northeastern Nigeria in 2009 in an attempt to establish its radical interpretation of Islamic law or Sharia in the region.
killed people who went to bury
The first attack in Nigeria occurred late on Monday (30 October) in the remote Gurokaiya village of Geidam, when some villagers were opened fire, killing 17 people. Giving information about this incident, Shaibu Babagana, a resident of Gurokaiya village, said that when 20 villagers were going to the cemetery to bury 17 people, they died after being hit by a landmine on the way on Tuesday.
Another resident, Idris Geidam, said the number of people killed was more than 40. Idris Geidam said that this is one of the most terrible attacks carried out by Boko Haram in recent times. It is very frightening to be attacked by a burial group so soon after losing your loved ones.
Islamic extremist group Boko Haram is extremely deadly
In Nigeria, the Islamic extremist group Boko Haram kills people in a very deadly manner. This can be gauged from the fact that in the last 14 years, at least 35,000 people have died and more than 2 million people have been displaced due to extremist violence in Yobe’s neighboring state of Borno. According to the founder of this group, Maulvi Mohammad Yusuf, Muslims are strictly prohibited from voting and being secular.
This group talks about implementing Sharia law all over the world. These people often carry out attacks by turning children into human bombs. These people are killing villagers every day and kidnapping travelers for ransom, which the Nigerian government has not been successful in stopping. In May this year, the country’s President Bola Tinubu took office. However, they too have not been successful in curbing such incidents.
