UN Voted Against Israel: Amidst the Israel-Hamas war, the United Nations has given Israel a deadline to leave Gaza through a resolution. In fact, through voting on this resolution, Israel has been asked to withdraw from the Palestinian-occupied area within a year. The atmosphere against Israel can be clearly seen in this voting.

In the voting, 124 votes were cast against Israel, while 14 votes were in support and 43 members did not participate in the voting. It is believed that this vote presents a challenge for Israel and can further weaken the country’s position in the international community.

‘Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem are illegal’

This resolution has supported the comment made by the UN’s top court, the International Court of Justice. This comment states that Israel’s presence in the Palestinian territories is illegal and must end. The court ruled in July that Israel is abusing its position as an occupying power.

The court stressed that there are illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
