This is the highest score in a single day in women’s Test cricket. Earlier this record was in the name of England. Which had scored 431 runs for 2 wickets against New Zealand in Christchurch in 1935. 20-year-old Shafali Verma surpassed Sutherland by completing her double century in just 194 balls. The Australian player had scored a double century in 248 balls against South Africa earlier this year. Shafali, who was playing her 5th Test, hit 23 fours and eight sixes in her aggressive innings. Earlier her highest score in Tests was 96 runs.

Mithali became the second Indian to score a double century
Shefali also became the second Indian to score a double century in Test cricket after a long gap of almost 22 years after former India captain Mithali Raj. Mandhana hit 27 fours
Smriti Mandhana hit 27 fours and a six in her powerful innings of 149. Both of them gave the team a great start by sharing a record 292 runs in 312 balls for the first wicket. Jemima Rodrigues scored 55 runs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur (42 not out) and Richa Ghosh (43 not out) were present at the crease at the time of stumps.
