50 to 90 percent voting took place in by-elections held on 31 assembly seats in 10 states.

Voting ranged from 50 to 90 percent in the by-elections held on 31 assembly seats in 10 states. The lowest turnout was recorded in Bihar. The only Gambegre seat in West Garo Hills district in Meghalaya saw the highest turnout of 90.84 per cent. About 89 percent votes were cast in Channapatna seat of Karnataka.

Voting was held on seven seats of Rajasthan, six of West Bengal, five of Assam, four of Bihar, three of Karnataka, two of Madhya Pradesh, one seat each of Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Kerala and Meghalaya. Counting of votes will take place on November 23. Tarari in Bihar had the lowest vote share of 50.20 percent.

In the by-elections, there was 75.05 percent voting in two seats of Madhya Pradesh, Vijaypur and 77.42 percent in Budhni. Voting was held in seven assembly seats of Rajasthan, out of which 75.27 percent voting took place in Ramgarh. In Chaurasi, 68.55 percent votes were cast and in Khinwansar, 71.04 percent votes were cast. Voting was 67.01 percent in Salumber, 60.61 percent in Deoli Uniara, 65.80 percent in Jhunjhunu, and 55.63 percent in Dosa. Nearly 77 percent voting took place in three assembly constituencies in Karnataka by-elections. About 59.29 percent voting took place in 6 assembly seats of West Bengal. 64 percent total voting was recorded in five assembly seats of Assam.

IPS officer Kishan Sahay missing from election duty suspended

The Election Commission suspended Rajasthan cadre IPS officer Kishan Sahay for missing from election duty in Jharkhand. Kishan Sahay Meena is posted at Rajasthan Police Headquarters on the post of IG Human Rights.

Candidates won unopposed on two seats in Sikkim

Sikkim Krantikari Morcha candidates were elected unopposed on two assembly seats of Sikkim. Aditya Goli from Soreng Chakung Chowk seat and Satish Chandra Rai from Singhithang were declared victorious unopposed.
